New Brighter Places repairs service launches on 24 March 2025

As part of our commitment to improve services to residents our new repairs contractor, Ian Williams, will start providing their services to residents on Monday 24 March.
They join us following a long procurement process that involved residents from the start. Resident feedback helped us design the new repairs service and some residents took part in choosing the new contractor. Plus a Resident Engagement Panel member is helping to train Ian Williams staff so resident experiences and expectations are at the heart of our repairs service.
Ian Williams are based in Chipping Sodbury just outside Bristol and specialise in repairs and maintenance for social and affordable housing tenants. We will work with them to make sure they provide a reliable and good quality repairs service that can adapt to meet the needs of residents now and in the coming years.

We have also appointed Sureserve Compliance to do all annual gas checks plus boiler and heating repairs in resident homes from 24 March
What does this mean for residents
You can report repairs as usual online or call 0117 942 4600. Please do not contact Ian Williams directly.
- If you have a repair already logged with Alliance
- Alliance are working through existing repairs jobs
- Any repair jobs not completed before 24 March will be transferred to Ian Williams after they start. They will contact residents to agree appointment dates.
- If you report a new repair before 24 March
- Emergency and urgent repairs – these will be prioritised as usual
- Routine repairs – these may be allocated to Ian Williams after they start so there may be a slight delay in the short term.
- If you have a damp and mould or larger repair underway with a contractor other than Alliance, these will continue to be managed by the Brighter Places team.
Alliance are currently working through existing repairs jobs. Any repairs not completed before 24 March will be handed over to Ian Williams. There may be delay as they work through the backlog so please bear with us whilst we get things up and running.
