As the Government continues its journey along the roadmap to ease England out of lockdown, this week marks another milestone with hairdressers, non-essential retail and pub gardens reopening.

We’re also pleased to tell you that following Government guidance as of Monday 19 April 2021, for previous United Communities residents, we’ll be reopening our repairs service.

For previous Solon residents there is no change to your repairs service currently.*

Phased restart of repairs – previous UC residents

To keep colleagues and residents safe, we’ll be restarting our repairs service in phases that begin after each of the Government’s road map dates.

We’ve outlined each of the phases below and what kind of repair you can contact us about during that phase. Please do not contact us if your repair is not included in that phase, as we won’t be able to schedule the work.

Once your repair has been logged, we will schedule a date according to priority.

Phase One – 19 April – 18 May

  • All emergency works
  • Roofing
  • Guttering
  • Fencing
  • External masonry repairs (walls, paths and chimneys)
  • Plumbing repairs

Phase Two – 19 May – 17 June

  • All Phase One repairs
  • Window repairs
  • Glazing repairs
  • Door entry systems
  • Communal repair
  • Minor carpentry repairs (kitchen door and drawer fronts, door handles, skirting and architraves)

Phase Three – 21 June onwards

  • Full repairs service will be resumed

Annual Gas Safety test/servicing

It’s important that we carry out these checks to ensure that you and your home are safe. Therefore, it is vital that if we contact you about these essential checks, you allow our engineer in to complete this health and safety test.

The engineer will respect your home and wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE). The engineer will also practice social distancing in your home. You may also wish to stay in another room while the test takes place.

Electrical safety checks

We’ve paused all electrical safety checks except for the most urgent. And we’re reviewing how we can begin these tests again in a safe way.

If your electrical check comes under the ‘urgent’ category, we’ll be in touch to arrange an appointment.
