We are here to support any resident experiencing difficulties such as money worries and debt, and at this particular time we understand you may need some extra advice due to your rent increase from April.

As part of Debt Awareness week (20-26 March) here’s a round-up of how Brighter Places and other agencies can help:

  • Our Income Officers can help with:
    • Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) applications
    • agreeing affordable rent repayment plans
    • finding if you are eligible for benefits
    • referrals to specialist debt agencies.
  • Our Tenancy Sustainment team can help with benefit and charity applications if you are in financial need
  • Tenancy Support Fund – one-off shopping or energy e-vouchers (£200 for an individual, £250 for a couple or family) for residents in financial hardship. Talk to your Housing Officer or the Tenancy Sustainment team about applying.
  • Check our Cost of Living page
