We've teamed up with Learn My Way to offer residents free access to online resources to learn how to use the internet and develop digital skills.
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never used the internet or you want to develop your digital skills, these learning websites provide everything you need and are completely free!
- Learn My Way – Short video clips help you understand the basics of using a computer and accessing the internet. You’ll find lots of resources that you can work through at your own pace, including starting from scratch with a computer or device. You’ll learn how to get online to do things like online banking or finding out about Universal Credit, right through to specific Microsoft Office courses.
- Make it Click – This is for you if you’re confident with the basics and want to develop your digital skills. There is a huge library of free resources covering a wide range of topics. These include how to switch energy suppliers online, social media guides for channels including Facebook and Instagram, online meetings, designing publications – the list goes on!
Start learning now and continue at any time
Once you’ve registered to access these online resources, you can return to your learning at any time and from any computer or device that’s connected to the internet. Just save the website address and type it into the internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge or Firefox etc) of the computer or device that you’re using.
Need help? We can support you
If you need any help to get started, we have a computer in our reception area that residents can use. If you want to do any of your online learning at our office please bring a pair of headphones with you as you’ll need to use the audio function for many of the video tutorials. To use our computer, please contact our engagement team on 0117 942 4600 or email engagement@brighterplaces.co.uk
Alternatively, you can access your local online centre and use their facilities to get online.
