Help and support to pay your rent

As the new school year approaches, we understand that many of our residents may be feeling the pinch.
It’s a difficult time with the cost of buying new school uniform coming so soon after the expense of the summer holidays. These added costs can create money problems and extra pressures.
We know that it is important to get ready for the new school year, but it is also important to keep up with rent payments.
If you’re struggling to keep on top of rent payments and other costs help is available:
- A local authority grant could help with the cost of buying a school uniform. Find out more from the Money Saving Expert website.
- It’s also worth checking with your child’s school. Some schools may have their own programs for support or partnerships to assist with uniform costs.
- Our Tenant Support Fund provides a one-off payment up to £350 in the form of supermarket or energy vouchers. Talk to us to find if you are eligible.
- We can signpost you to agencies that can provide further support and advice.
- You may find it useful to look at other resources available, including:
A budgeting Loan. This loan is for those residents receiving benefits. Find out about the circumstances in which you may need a budgeting loan, how to repay the loan and how to apply.
Turn2us charity has an online, anonymous tool that you can use to find out if you’re entitled to a grant. Simply answer a few questions about your circumstances and the online tool matches you to grants that you may be eligible for.
