Investing in homes and listening to customers

Blog / Engagement Panel

The Engagement Panel met in June 2025 to discuss investment in customers’ homes, review customer feedback and plan future engagement activities.

Members received an update on Brighter Places’ planned maintenance programme and how decisions are made about home improvements. The discussion covered:

  • investment in home improvement works
  • delivering value for money
  • communicating planned works clearly
  • opportunities for customer involvement

Members welcomed the positive feedback being received about improvement works, while also identifying opportunities to further strengthen communication and customer engagement throughout the process.

The Panel also discussed plans for a future customer event, designed to give more people the opportunity to hear about the work of the Engagement Panel, share their experiences and help shape future priorities. Members agreed that creating accessible and welcoming opportunities for customers to get involved remains an important focus.

Customer satisfaction results were also reviewed. While improvements were noted in several areas, members recognised that there is still more work to do to ensure customers feel listened to and involved in decisions that affect them.

The discussion reinforced the important role customers play in shaping services and influencing improvements. Whether discussing home investment, customer feedback or future engagement activities, listening to customer experiences remains at the heart of creating better services.
