Support for residents celebrating the Platinum Jubilee weekend
We recently announced funding support for communities wanting to organise an event during the Platinum Jubilee weekend, 2-5 June.
We’re delighted to be providing support for two Platinum Jubilee Street parties organised by members of the local community.
Our engagement panel reviewed the applications to ensure local Brighter Places residents would benefit and that they demonstrated good value for money. The two events we are supporting will take place at Murdoch Square in Horfield, Bristol and ‘Zone A’ in Totterdown, Bristol.

Brighter Places resident Phil Wilson is the lead organiser for the Murdoch Square event. Phil said, “We’ve always had a great little neighbourhood here at Murdoch Square – we look out for each other and everyone gets involved when
we put on events. Our last one was for Macmillan but we’re really looking forward to chance to come together again as a community.”
Support is still available – contact us now!
Applications for funding has closed but you can still get in touch if you need some support. We’re keen to hear from groups holding community events in areas where we have Brighter Places homes and we may still be able to support in some way – get in touch for further information.
Also, if you have other ideas for community activities where you live and would like to chat them through, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Scott Jacobs-Lange or Danielle Jones on 0117 942 4600 or email us.
