Supported housing

Brighter Places runs supported housing schemes to tackle homelessness and deliver services towards independent living. Current schemes include Rackfield House in Bath and Next Steps accommodation in Bristol.

Rackfield House, Bath

Rackfield House is a 20 bed supported housing scheme for single homeless men and women with low to medium support needs. 

Rackfield is funded by Bath & North East Somerset Community Health & Care Services and Virgin Care contracts.

It is a terrace of five Grade II listed, fully furnished cottages with a communal garden overlooking the river. The service has a team of three staff and a programme offering support to review at 12 months.

What do we offer?

  • Non-therapeutic support
  • Regular resident-led support plan meetings and reviews with a key worker
  • Money management advice and guidance
  • Benefit and welfare advice and support
  • Signposting and referral to external support services

Criteria for applicants

  • Single homeless people aged 18-65 years old
  • No dependents living with them
  • Willingness to engage with support services
  • Physically able to manage stairs
  • Ability to live independently in shared accommodation
  • Motivation to secure move-on accommodation
  • Abstinence from substance misuse

Rackfield House accepts referrals via Bath & North East Somerset's Housing Support gateway portal.
