We want your ideas for a special mural in St Pauls and St Agnes

Our new development of 31 affordable homes on Lower Ashley Road in Bristol is set to have a unique mural painted on the side of the building.
And we need you to help design it!
If you live or work in St Pauls and St Agnes or surrounding areas, we’d like your ideas and inspiration for the unique artwork which will sit at the gateway to the area.
We have teamed up with our partner Prelon Housing to commission the mural and Upfest, Europe’s largest street art and graffiti festival, who will find an artist to work with your ideas to create the mural.
The large scale mural, created on the side of the building, will be easy to see by anyone entering St Paul’s and St Agnes from the M32.
If you’d like to contribute your ideas and inspiration for the mural please take part in our consultation that opens on Monday 13 June, closing on Sunday 26 June 2022.
A vibrant welcome to the area
It’s a fantastic opportunity to give a vibrant welcome to the area and make the new homes look and feel like a part of their surroundings.
Plus, respondents whose ideas inspire the artist’s imagination will be invited to a workshop with them to help further develop the design.

Affordable homes for a growing population
Our Lower Ashley Road housing development, built on a former petrol station that had been vacant for some years, will provide affordable homes for the area’s growing population. We will deliver 31 apartments with private gardens. All the apartments will be affordable with a mix of either one or two bedrooms.
The site falls within Bristol City Council’s Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) and includes air source heat pumps (ASHP). ASHP extract heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. This low carbon technology improves the carbon footprint of the build process and for the building in the future, as well as, reducing heating bills for residents.
Bringing our existing property to life
Plans are also afoot to create another mural on one of our existing properties nearby. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of both murals over the coming weeks. So, watch this space!
