A warm welcome to our new Engagement Panel members
Update from the engagement panel 14 March 2023
Next engagement panel meeting: Wednesday 12 April 2023, 5pm-6.30pm
This panel meeting was slightly different to the others we’ve had in the past. We have just interviewed and appointed new members to join the Engagement Panel. These are all residents of Brighter Places. We kept the meeting small so these new members could feel welcome, and we would have the time to answer any questions they have, before signing on the dotted line.
So, we would like to welcome L and Sarah White to the Brighter Places residents’ Engagement Panel. We are also looking forward to welcoming additional members at the next meeting.
Panel members engaged in some light-hearted getting to know each other games. Then a presentation was shown to give candidates a taste of what to expect being on the panel. A bit of history was given about how the panel first started and what has been happening on its journey. This was to give the new members some insight, and we looked at what being on the panel involves – attending a monthly meet up, in person or online. As a collective, we scrutinise or give advice on things such as customer services, complaints, we’ve helped to shape policies, and we help with events that connect residents to the organisation.
The new members were very interested in feedback and the outcomes of the repairs service. As a team, we have decided that the next meeting in April will focus on repairs and understanding of how the service fully works.
If any resident is interested in the panel meetings and would like to attend as an observer at one, please do get in contact with a member of Brighter Places staff. All residents are welcome.
